Audio Describe with Experience Access
Fortune Theatre is pleased to be running audio described performances for visually impaired patrons. Our audio described performances provide the opportunity to hear a description of the visual elements of the play. Patrons wear headsets and listen to a live audio describer narrating between the gaps in the dialogue. Using vivid and succinct descriptions, the visual world of the play is realised verbally.
We also offer a ‘touch tour’ prior to the audio described performance.Visually impaired patrons can take a guided tour of the set, handle props, feel costumes, and meet some of the cast. It is a great way to help visualise the imaginary world you are about to enter. Fortune Theatre Access Guide and play information are downloadable from our website as text and audio files. CDs are available on request. Programme information in braille is available from the Box Office.
